After over a month without a home in the NFL, former Washington Huskies tight end Devin Culp has landed with the Cleveland Browns.
The 6-foot-4, 237-pound former seventh-round draft pick in 2024 was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 2, days after being cut, but signed back to the team's practice squad. Culp played in 18 games for the NFC South organization since entering the league.
Culp caught 6 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown for the Buccaneers over his two seasons with the team as a serviceable option behind fellow ex-Husky Cade Otton. Although he saw a career-high 13 games in 2025, Culp only had one catch, a six-yard reception in a 29-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15.
In the wake of Browns rookie Carsen Ryan working
his way through a calf injury behind starter Harold Fannin Jr., the former Husky could provide future insurance at the position for first-year coach Todd Monken.

After being released by the Buccaneers before the start of the regular season, Culp worked out for the New England Patriots on September 21, though nothing materialized, which led to the Browns being able to add the ex-UW starter to their practice squad this week.
Ironically, as Culp joins fellow former Husky wide receiver Denzel Boston in Cleveland, another former UW standout, cornerback Myles Bryant, was released to make room for the Gonzaga Prep product. Bryant has spent six years in the league with the Patriots (2020-23) and Houston Texans (2024-25) with 20 starts and 77 total games played.
Culp was selected with the No. 246 pick in the 2024 draft by the Buccaneers after making 26 career starts for the Huskies from 2018-23. In his final season with the program under former coach Kalen DeBoer, the former four-star recruit out of Spokane, Washington, caught a career-high two touchdown passes, the second of which was a highlight-reel toe-tap at USC that helped secure a crucial road victory en route to UW's first College Football Playoff national championship appearance against Michigan.
