After winning their first NCAA Tournament game since 2017, Tina Langley and the Washington Huskies have big expectations for the 2026-27 season, with one of the best players in the Big Ten leading the way.
Ahead of her fourth year on Montlake, guard Sayvia Sellers found her name on the Preseason All-Big Ten Coaches and Media Teams after she averaged 18 points, 3.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game during her junior season, while shooting 35.4 percent from three-point range.
Those numbers were good enough to earn Sellers a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team, as well as consideration as a Regional Finalist for the WBCA Coaches’ All-America Team and a slot on the Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year Late-Season Team.

As the Huskies sit at No. 23 in T-rank to open the season, Sellers is expected to lead the way on what could be one of the best teams in the Big Ten. With All-Big Ten honorable mention Avery Howell and All-Big Ten Freshman Team honoree Brynn McGaughy both back in the fold, Langley has a host of talent to surround Sellers.
Combined with North Carolina State transfer center Tilda Trygger, former Colorado State guard Brooke Carlson, and several other portal additions, the goal for the Huskies appears to be to host an NCAA Regional despite what will be a difficult slate in conference play.
After averaging 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 43.1 percent from beyond the arc, Howell was arguably one of the Preseason All-Big Ten Team's biggest snubs.
