The Washington Huskies are preparing to host a large number of their top targets in the 2028 class for unofficial visits when they open the 2026 season on Sunday, September 6, including five-star edge rusher Jalanie George.
According to a report from Rivals' Steve Wiltfong (subscription required), the 6-foot-5, 240-pound product of Desert Edge High School, who is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect and top edge rusher in the 2028 class by Rivals, will be on campus for his second unofficial visit on Montlake. George took his first trip to Seattle in March for Junior Day, which was enough to get him to include Fisch's program in his top six alongside Auburn, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, and Oklahoma.
Now, the Huskies are considered the heavy favorites
to land George's commitment, even as the Sooners and Tigers make a push for his services, after Wiltfong and Rivals' Brandon Huffman both logged predictions for Fisch's coaching staff to land a pledge from the coveted pass rusher.
"Big EDGE prospect who is the highest-rated prospect at the position early on in the 2028 cycle. Listed at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds with a frame that should pack on more weight," Rivals' Charles Power wrote in an evaluation of his film.
"Shows advanced play speed, tracking down ball carriers in backside pursuit. The combination of size and burst off the edge sticks out. Collected 16 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks during his sophomore season. Has positional versatility and upside along the defensive front."
As the Huskies look to close on George's commitment, which would send a message nationally as Fisch continues to try and establish his program's reputation as one that can pull in elite talent from around the country, Washington should have a great opportunity to make a strong pitch with the high-end pass rusher.
