Several members of coach Heather Tarr's Washington Huskies have put together a stellar summer in the Northwoods League in Wisconsin, and among them is catcher Tia Durst.
The senior from Sycamore, Illinois, who transferred to Washington after spending the 2024 season with Lake Land College, has starred for the Madison Night Mares alongside a pair of her teammates: outfielder Ava Carroll and pitcher Ryan Maddox.
Across 15 games, Durst has put together a .381 batting average and 1.257 OPS on 16 hits with 3 home runs, 9 runs batted in, 18 runs scored, and 10 walks. Now, she'll be looking to carry that momentum back to Montlake, where she's played an important role off the bench for Tarr.

Durst has been touted for her athleticism since the moment she stepped on campus and has been one of Washington's most important pinch runners throughout her career. Over 61 games for the Huskies, she has put together a .263 batting average and .749 OPS on 25 hits, a home run, 26 runs scored, 18 RBI,13 walks, and 6 stolen bases.
While also establishing herself as a reliable defender, with just one error to her name across 140 chances, good for a .993 fielding percentage, she has also collected several off-field accolades over time in Seattle.
Durst was an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete in 2025 and was also named to the Spring Academic All-Big Ten Team and a National Strength Coaches Association All-American in 2026. Now, she'll be looking to carry her success into a bigger role on Montlake for the 2027 season.
