Former Washington Huskies star cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. had a career day as the Minnesota Vikings cruised to a 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints.
The former second-round pick hauled in a pair of interceptions from Saints quarterback Tyler Shough, who defensive coordinator Brian Flores' unit held to just 96 yards passing, along with Murphy's two picks, after Shough came into the game throwing for an average of 300.8 yards per game, the third-best mark in the league

Murphy's first pick came midway through the third quarter, as Shough was pressured on second-and-26 and rolled to his right before forcing the ball
downfield, where the 2018 All-Pac-12 First Team honoree was waiting five yards in front of the intended receiver.
The second iced the game late in the fourth quarter, as the Vikings held a 10-point lead and Shough attempted to push the ball downfield towards star receiver Chris Olave, but overshot his intended target and the ball fell into the arms of Murphy.

The eight-year veteran also tallied 3 tackles, 1 for loss, with a pair of pass breakups in the game, as he allowed a single reception for 4 yards in the win to help the Vikings stay undefeated and move to 5-0 on the season.
"They speak for themselves," superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson said of Murphy and Minnesota's defense after the game. "There's really nothing more to say about them. They're continuously coming in here and showing up, getting the ball, turning over; it's kind of crazy to see. The energy is there; we feed off of them. They come out there and get a turnover or get a stop; it creates that momentum for us on the offense."
