The Washington Huskies extended an offer to four-star Coronado High School shooting guard Kyle Amadi on Tuesday, his first reported Power Four scholarship opportunity.
One of the fastest-rising juniors in the 2028 class credited first-year assistant coach DeAndre Haynes as the one to deliver his offer. The 6-foot-4 guard moved from Austin Prep Academy in Austin, Texas, to Henderson, Nevada during the offseason, following stops at Faith Family Academy of Oak Cliff and Mansfield Lake Ridge High School, all in the Lone Star State.
At APA as a sophomore, the No. 162 prospect and No. 19 shooting guard in the 2028 247Sports Composite rankings, averaged 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game over 48 games in 2025-26, helping lead the program
to a 50-10 record.

Amadi has reported previous offers from Cal State Bakersfield, Sacramento State, and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, which should give the Huskies an early foothold before the rising junior could see his recruitment explode if he improves upon his strong 2025-26 campaign in Texas.
"He has already showcased his versatility, playmaking, and athleticism," an evaluation by Preps Hoops wrote of the newest UW offer. "When he wants to score, he can get out in transition and throw down gravity-defying dunks. He is also a solid shooter from beyond the arc and can get hot in a hurry. On defense, Amadi leverages his speed and length to make his presence felt."
Haynes, a former longtime assistant at Marquette, Maryland, and Michigan among other schools, has been a key addition for third-year coach Danny Sprinkle, specifically within the high school recruiting ranks as the program still plans to be a player in the traditional player acquisition model for building rosters year-over-year.
UW signed only one high school recruit this past class, ex-Mount Si standout Lat Ford, who will have to fight for minutes as a freshman in his first season. Although Amadi already stands as a higher-ranked prospect than the lone Husky prep addition, it's still an uphill road for the Huskies on the recruiting trail unless the program can turn around this coming season.
