When the Washington Commanders face off against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in London, it will be the fourth international game in franchise history. It will also be the first time in franchise history that Washington will play international games in back-to-back seasons. Washington played the Miami Dolphins in Madrid last season.
Sunday’s game against the Colts will be the first that wide receiver Terry McLaurin has played in London. He played in last season’s game in Madrid. Meanwhile, his fellow wide receiver, Stefon Diggs, has played in London twice before.
After Thursday’s practice, Diggs and McLaurin had a joint press conference with reporters in attendance. Diggs and McLaurin were talking about growing the NFL and playing in London
before McLaurin had everyone laughing.
When McLaurin revealed it was his first time playing in London, Diggs looked at him in disbelief. McLaurin confirmed that yes, this was the first time he’d played in London since being drafted to the Commanders in 2019. Now for the fun part.
“They was sticking us at 1 o’clock,” McLaurin told Diggs, drawing a laugh from everyone, including Diggs.
