So, the Washington Commander under the most pressure this year is going to be Dan Quinn, right?
If not Quinn, the head coach, then certainly the man under the most pressure will be quarterback Jayden Daniels. Well, Logan Paulsen might tell you in Lee Corso fashion, "Not so fast, my friend."
The former NFL tight end who was with the Washington Redskins from 2010-2014 told co-host Grant Paulsen Wednesday on the "Take Command" podcast he really believes the person with the most pressure in the organization this year might honestly be new offensive coordinator David Blough.

"Dude, I think he (David Blough) might be number one," began Paulsen. "Because you are responsible for facilitating the growth of Jayden Daniels (third season), the elevation of the receiver two spot, making sure Chig (Okonkwo) has a breakout year, insulating the offensive line, finding productive runners. Shoot, he might be the number one guy."
Paulsen was attempting to cause his listeners to consider how David Blough's job description reads. With Dan Quinn's attention to many details, you can guarantee Blough has been reminded of his job description more than a few times since being named the new offensive coordinator in January.
Oh, what difference a calendar year makes. This time last July, Blough was able to come to the Ashburn facility to kick off training camp and simply focus on his quarterbacks Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Sam Hartman and Josh Johnson. That's not the case this year, as training camp begins with rookies reporting July 24 and veterans on July 28.
This year, Blough's plate is more than full, as for the first time Blough(who turns 31 next week) is responsible for designing the Commanders' offensive scheme and overseeing each of the offensive coaches as well. Then, once preseason games are concluded, Blough will need to develop each weekly game plan. If that is not enough, for the first time, Blough will also be calling the offensive plays this 2026 season.
"The thing about this offseason that has been so fascinating for me is I am excited about David Blough. I had a couple of conversations with him. I think he is a bright dude, right? Dan Quinn has brought up (promoted) David Blough to elevate these pieces of the offense to more of a conventional 2026 NFL offense."
Paulsen paused and then concluded, "And if that doesn't look good? "Bro, it could be a long year."
