The Washington Commanders had some room on their 16-man practice squad after seeing two players plucked away this week. On Monday, the Seattle Seahawks signed undrafted free-agent rookie running back Robert Henry Jr. to their 53-man roster.
On Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed cornerback Terell Smith
to their 53-man roster, leaving two openings on Washington’s practice squad. The Commanders announced replacements on Wednesday morning.- S Darren Hall
- OLB T.J. Maguranyanga
If Maguranyanga sounds familiar, that’s because he’s been with the Commanders as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound native of Zimbabwe signed with the Commanders in April 2025. He was waived during final cuts that summer, but quickly re-signed to the practice squad.
Maguranyanga appeared in one game for Washington in 2025, playing 11 snaps and recording one tackle.
The Commanders signed Maguranyanga to a reserve/futures contract in January, and he was again waived during final cuts. After clearing waivers, the team placed him on injured reserve and released him days later with an injury settlement.
The 26-year-old Hall was a fourth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021 NFL Draft out of San Diego State. He played two seasons there and has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals. He reunited with the Falcons earlier this year, signing in May, but was placed on injured reserve at the end of training camp and later released.
The 6-foot-0, 195-pound Hall has appeared in 48 games with 12 starts, recording 94 tackles, including three for loss, six passes defended and one sack.
