New Commanders receiver Stefon Diggs is ready for a new season.
Diggs signed with the Commanders in early August, putting an official end to the continued silly talk of the Commanders signing Brandon Aiyuk. Diggs is older than Aiyuk; however, he has been much more reliable this calendar year, showing he has continued to work hard to stay in NFL shape.

In the locker room, Wednesday, Diggs was asked how he felt about this 2026 Commanders team. “I feel good; it’s been a good camp. It was a shorter camp for me. (Well, only by a single week, as Diggs was signed one week after everyone
reported). I’m excited for the guys; they put in a lot of work. They did a great job of trying to catch me up to speed for the most part.”
Perhaps the shorter camp wasn’t an issue for Diggs, given his veteran status. Perhaps one less week will help Diggs feel refreshed after the weekend break the coaches gave the players. But in the time Diggs has been here, he seems to like this team’s chemistry/environment. "It’s just a fun team, a young team. Being around the guys, spending a lot of time with them, you’re getting to know them and learn them. They are fun to be around,” expressed Diggs.
When asked what the Commanders’ offense could possibly do on Sunday, Diggs instantly responded, “S***, I don’t want to put a ceiling on it.” But the veteran is not naive. He knows the Eagles are going to be a very difficult defense to face in an opener Sunday. “We are going to have to execute at a high level. It’s going to take a lot of attention to detail.”
Diggs then praised his new Commanders teammates, “They’ve been putting in a lot of time over 40 days. I didn’t do the 40 days. But I can see they have put in a lot of work up to this point. It’s going to come down to execution.”
When asked what he might have for individual goals for the season, the former Maryland Terrapin, now entering his 12th NFL season, kept it succinct: “Just winning, that's all I want to do."
If that’s all Diggs accomplishes this season, he will make a lot of Commanders fans very happy.
