Just as the Washington Commanders looked set for a Week 4 boost with the returns of linebacker Frankie Luvu and tight end Chig Okonkwo, a last-minute injury could spell trouble on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
Star wide receiver Terry McLaurin was added to Washington’s final injury report with a hamstring injury. He’s listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in London.
Losing McLaurin would be a difficult blow for the Commanders, especially this late in the week. Washington’s leading wideout had his best game of the season in last week’s upset win over Seattle, finishing with six receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. Through three games this season, McLaurin has 10 receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown.
If McLaurin can’t go, someone
else would have a bigger role. Stefon Diggs and Antonio Williams would be the top receivers, but a player like Treylon Burks, Jaylin Lane, or Luke McCaffrey could receive more time. Some of McLaurin’s potential targets could be absorbed by Okonkwo’s return and Austin Ekeler’s first game back with the Commanders after re-signing earlier this week.

The Colts allow around 255 passing yards per game and rank among the bottom five pass defenses by almost every metric. Washington will have opportunities to move the ball through the air with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota, as Jayden Daniels was ruled out earlier on Friday. This will be the second straight game Daniels has missed.
Another offensive player listed as out for Sunday is running back Rachaad White. He injured his shoulder last week against the Seahawks. White’s third-down run late in the game was critical in clinching the win for the Commanders. Ekeler will likely fill White's role.
After missing three games combined in his first two NFL seasons, McLaurin played in all 17 games over the next four seasons. However, a quad injury cost him seven games in 2025, leading to his worst NFL season.
