The Washington Commanders (0-2) host the Seattle Seahawks (2-0) in their 2026 home opener this Sunday at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
The Commanders enter the game without a win and without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels. The Seahawks have won both of their games and could potentially get Sam Darnold back on the field after he suffered a glute injury in Week 1.
The mood around the Commanders’ organization has been somber; people are frustrated, and it suddenly feels like there’s no hope for this team in 2026. While Marcus Mariota and the offense could find their footing, the Commanders’ secondary is going to struggle mightily against Jaxon Smith-Njigba, just like they did against CeeDee Lamb. A shootout does
not benefit the Commanders, so it will be interesting to see what defensive coordinator Daronte Jones does with his secondary this week.
