The Washington Commanders traveled north to Owings Mills, Maryland, on Wednesday for a joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens. It was an important day of preparation for the Commanders, with starters not expected to play in Friday’s preseason finale.
It wasn’t a good day. Already without star left tackle Laremy Tunsil for perhaps the season with a triceps tear, head coach Dan Quinn said before practice that right guard Sam Cosmi was sick and would not practice. Center Nick Allegretti remains out with a calf injury. That meant Washington was without three of its projected five starting offensive linemen coming into training camp.
Things went about as well as expected. The Commanders struggled to protect quarterback Jayden Daniels, and Washington’s
issues at center remain. What else happened during Wednesday’s joint practice?
