Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn told the media Monday he believes his team can turn around this season.
Scott Abraham of 7 News in DC asked Quinn directly, "What gives you the belief that they can make a run here?” Indeed, the Commanders are only 1-4-1 through six games. In addition, after the first round of division games, the Commanders are winless at 0-2-1.
“Yes, one, I think you have to demonstrate it (belief),” Quinn replied. “Belief is really powerful. You know that you’ve heard me talk about it. More powerful than even knowing, but knowing that you’re capable of doing these things.”
Yes, belief is infectious in a family, in an organization, on a team. It helps keep people motivated toward an objective.
Bye week is over. No more
excuses. Listen, the Commanders better win on Sunday night vs. the Eagles. Head coach Dan Quinn told me, "I haven't loved all four quarters together, that's what we're chasing and that's what I'm certain we're gonna get after." pic.twitter.com/8NQM4ral9D

Quinn publicly said he still believes in his men and that they can get the job done. It is one of Dan Quinn’s strengths. You know, “Anybody, anywhere, anytime.”
“My belief in them as a group is really strong. I’ve seen the practice habits and knowing that we’ve been in every game. I haven’t loved all four quarters together. That’s what we’re chasing, and that’s what I’m certain we are going to get after.”
Notice Quinn said he is ‘certain’ it will occur. Well, you can only be ‘certain’ of something if you have actual evidence to lean on. Quinn might be referring to practice and team meetings, which of course we have absolutely no access to. We, on the other hand, can only look at the evidence games provide. And this team has only one win right now and a -40 point differential after just six games.
“When we do that, beginning this week, I think that will really show what we are made of and why we can be an excellent football team. But it will take the whole time, like conference games and division games, like on a Thursday night. It will test us, but we’re ready for it.”
You have to give it to Dan Quinn; he is a communicator, and I see why guys love playing for him. Commanders Wire certainly hopes Quinn is right that they will get things straightened out starting this weekend with a win over the Eagles.
