Training camp is in full swing for the Washington Commanders, who donned pads for the first time Monday, but not every player is participating in drills right now. A few players started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list due to minor injuries that do not require an injured reserve designation.
Cornerback Trey Amos and punter Tress Way were two of the players who began training camp on the PUP list.
"Tress suffered a pectoral injury," GM Adam Peters said ahead of camp. "He'll be rehabbing off to the side. It’s not expected to keep him out for an extended period of time, though, so not too worried about that."
Amos landing on the PUP list wasn't a surprise, as he fractured his fibula during the Commanders' Week 10 loss to
the Detroit Lions last season. It was an unfortunate injury as the then-rookie had been playing well up to that point.
On Monday, after the Commanders' first practice in pads, head coach Dan Quinn provided an update on both players.
Dan Quinn said they’ll assess CB Trey Amos and P Tress Way on Thursday. Will give them an idea what happens next for both.

Both players are expected to be healthy and ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season, so as long as both are progressing as they are supposed to, one or both could come off the PUP list after Thursday's evaluation. Stay tuned to Commanders Wire for the latest updates.
