- The Commanders' defense produced two takeaways early, but only came away with two field goals. That was brutal; two huge opportunities missed early.
- Backup QB Marcus Mariota got off to a good start. He completed 3 of 4 passes for 46 yards, and ran once for 35 yards. Then he was sacked, injured his knee, and was out for the rest of the game. Playing only two series, he led the Commanders in rushing yards.
- The Commanders' offensive line did little in the run game, as Washington running backs totaled only 65 yards in 21 carries.
- Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is now 6-3-1 when starting against Washington in his NFL career, though he did not play well.
- Without Terry McLaurin, Commanders receivers caught 12 passes for 168 yards. Others caught 6 passes for 64 yards.
- The Commanders’ run defense surrendered 128 rushing yards on 30 carries (4.27 YPC).
- With Marcus Mariota’s knee injury, the Commanders were already on their third quarterback in the first half of the fourth game of the season. Let that sink in.
- With the loss, the Commanders are still winless (0-2-1) in International games and 1-3 in this 2026 season.
- TE Chig Okonkwo was supposed to be a huge threat this season. Today he had four targets and produced five yards.
- 10:1: Hey, NFL officials, really? 10:1 ratio in penalties Commanders vs. Colts? For example, still waiting to see Stefon Diggs commit that offensive pass interference penalty.
- Forced into action, 7th-round rookie QB Athan Kaliakmanis completed 15 of 33 for 186 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, and 1 sack for -9 yards.
- With all the injuries, did you catch Commanders owner Josh Harris on camera literally mouthing numbers and names, trying to learn who the reserves were in the game?
- WR Treylon Burks was the No. 18 overall choice of the 2022 NFL Draft. Today was the first time he has recorded a second touchdown reception in an NFL season.
- CB Rasul Douglas recorded his first interception of this 2026 season and the 22nd of his NFL career.
- QB Athan Kaliakmanis threw his first NFL touchdown pass (Treylon Burks) in his first NFL game of seeing action.
- Head coach Dan Quinn is now 6-15 since losing the 2024 NFC Championship Game to the Eagles.
- The Commanders also lost WR/returner Jaylin Lane with a bad leg injury on a kickoff return. He may be gone for the season.
