The Washington Commanders made several roster moves ahead of their Monday night showdown against the San Francisco 49ers, activating three players from the injured reserve list and removing them from the injury report.
The Commanders activated cornerback Trey Amos, running back Jeremy McNichols, and linebacker Jordan Magee from IR. All three are eligible to play in Monday’s game. To make room for Amos, Magee and McNichols, Washington placed starting running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt and outside linebacker Javontae Jean-Baptiste on injured reserve.
Croskey-Merritt reaggravated a previous groin injury in last week’s game against the New York Giants. With McNichols’ return, the Commanders now have Austin Ekeler, Rachaad White and McNichols in the backfield.
Jean-Baptiste recently suffered a pectoral injury.
The Commanders also released linebacker Austin Keys and elevated outside linebacker T.J. Maguranyanga from the practice squad.
Amos, Washington’s 2025 second-round pick, fractured his fibula in Week 10 last season and missed the rest of the year. After missing time to begin training camp, he injured his ankle on his second day of practice and did not return. He began the season on injured reserve and returned to practice last week. He immediately figures into the cornerback mix, along with Amik Robertson, Rasul Douglas, Fabian Moreau and Mike Sainristil.
Magee injured his hamstring in the Week 1 loss at Philadelphia and landed on injured reserve, missing the last four games.
Washington and San Francisco kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET tonight in Santa Clara.
