The Washington Commanders will begin training camp on Wednesday. Rookies reported to Ashburn on Friday, with veterans scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. On Saturday, the Commanders announced some roster moves ahead of camp
Cornerback Trey Amos, edge rusher Dorance Armstrong and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. will begin training camp on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Amos, the No. 61 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, started at cornerback last season until fracturing his fibula in a Week 10 loss to the Detroit Lions. Armstrong tore his ACL in a Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, while Wise tore his quad in a Week 2 game at Green Bay. All three defensive starters were lost for the season.

The Commanders haven't commented on the injuries this offseason because they aren't required to, but Amos has said on social media that things were going well.
"Leg's going good, man, for real, for real," Amos said in Aprilon an Instagram live. "I just left a workout nearly five minutes ago."
Wise offered the following update in March after he signed a one-year deal to return to Washington.
"I feel like I am doing really well," he said. "The journey was tough with ups and downs, good days and not so good of days. But it was something that taught me a lot during this process. Being present, being thankful for where I am now and how far I've come. Taking every day one step at a time, seeing the progressions because when you get hurt you tend to start over on some things. Sometimes that is the hardest part... starting all over."
Head coach Dan Quinn will meet with the media before camp, where he'll most certainly be asked about injury updates for Amos, Armstrong and Wise.
