The Washington Commanders are coming off a difficult week. After getting a chance to defeat the NFC East-leading New York Giants on Sunday, the Commanders bungled the clock in the final minute and didn’t even get a chance to attempt a potential game-winning 42-yard field goal.
Washington’s reward: a cross-country trip to San Francisco in Week 6 to face the undefeated 49ers.
Head coach Dan Quinn opened Thursday’s practice by delivering some good news: safety Nick Cross, cornerback Trey Amos and running back Jeremy McNichols would all practice fully this week. Cross has missed the last three games, while Amos and McNichols have yet to play this season after opening the year on injured reserve. The Commanders opened their 21-day return windows last week and appear
on track to play the 49ers on Monday night.
In more good news, backup linebacker Jordan Magee opened his 21-day window on Thursday after missing the last four games on injured reserve.
Unfortunately, not all the news was good. In their first practice report of the week, Washington had seven players who did not participate in practice and seven who were limited.
