The Washington Commanders are finally victorious. On Sunday night, after falling behind 10-0 in the first quarter, Washington scored 27 unanswered points to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10 in their second win of the season.
It was a much-needed victory for Washington, which hadn’t won since Week 3 over Seattle. Since then, there have been penalty issues — some legit, others not so much — strange coaching decisions, situational awareness issues for the coaches and the quarterback and the embarrassing end-of-game gaffe against the Giants that led to a tie. That's a lot to process over the last five weeks.
Early on Sunday night, it looked like another embarrassing prime-time performance from Washington. However, quarterback Jayden Daniels gathered
his team after four offensive penalties in the first quarter; everyone calmed down, and the rest was history.
So, if you were following along on social media, you probably saw reactions from early and late. And they were very different. As we do each week, let’s head over to X — formerly Twitter — to assess some of the best reactions from start to finish in the Commanders’ 27-10 win.
Embarrassing.

Such an undisciplined team. 3rd and 1 and we get two false start penalties in a row. At home. Unreal.
— Matthew Berry (@MatthewBerryTMR) November 2, 2026
It's just penalties, drops, missed kicks, wasted timeouts, and our fat idiot coach in a backwards stupid hat.
— Eric Nathan (@BarstoolNate) November 2, 2026
In fairness, the fumble was a nice change of pace from the penalties, drops and missed throws.

Just a quick reminder that Shaun Hochuli is an absolute embarrassment to his father as a referee.

As you were....
Man - this is a really tough call against Chaisson. I get the intention of the rule, but this was not enough to throw the flag pic.twitter.com/nWVGvXlSB8
— Tiller56 (Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) November 2, 2026
As I thought, from the press box, everyone would lose their minds over that call on K'Lavon Chaisson.
— Chris Russell AKA the 🐓🐓! (@Russellmania621) November 2, 2026
I normally understand pretty much all the calls against the QB's.
This one I can't support. He does go to the head. It's not a forcible blow or anything other than…
K’Lavon Chaisson has been amazing
— brandon (@JayDanielsMVP) November 2, 2026
Chaisson has played a helluva game tonight. Two terrible penalties, but he has dominated. #RaiseHail

After a slow start, it ended up being a really strong night from Jayden Daniels
— Lynnell Willingham (@Nell_BTP) November 2, 2026
WSH’s defense was SUPER strong as well
The Commanders' offense in 2 drives:
— Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) November 2, 2026
Treylon Burks, wide open on 1st-&-10, falls on his route
Jayden Daniels - false start
Sam Cosmi - false start
Daniels misses Stefon Diggs on a quick out
Burks drops short pass on 3rd-and-3
Jayden is too inefficient right now and im slightly frustrated.
— Jamual (@LetMualTellit) November 2, 2026
Now we can shut that dumbass “Jayden hasn’t won in x months” narrative up
— brady (@burgermanders) November 2, 2026
Jayden once again off early. I can't keep defending these slow starts
— Nick Akridge (@nick_akridge) November 2, 2026
Just a wonderful drive that makes you enjoy football again. Jayden rocks. If this team could play at this level consistently mannnnnnnnn
— Eric Nathan (@BarstoolNate) November 2, 2026
"Nate why are you so negative?" they ask. BECAUSE I ALREADY KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS IS A DAN QUINN FOOTBALL TEAM. WE DON'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT. WE DO NOTHING CORRECTLY. WE ARE ALL WASTING OUR TIME PRETENDING ANYTHING DIFFERENT WILL HAPPEN.
— Eric Nathan (@BarstoolNate) November 2, 2026
Can Dan Quinn be fired at halftime?
— Tiller56 (Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) November 2, 2026
Asking for an…ENTIRE FAN BASE!
Remember how Dan Quinn promised a complete game? Well, so far, he could be accurate. Only 3 more quarters to go.

Thoughts on tonight’s win vs. Philadelphia:
— Eric Sully (@CommandersRealm) November 2, 2026
• Way too sloppy yet again to start the game. Too many high school level mistakes derailing drives. Not something you can overcome against 90% of the league.
• Jayden started out rusty. Missed a few layups, but overall played a B+…
I wanna win today very badly but if we lose dan Quinn is fired
— Rondo Shai Gil Alexander (@JankyRondo) November 1, 2026
So its a WIN WIN situation for me today #raisehail
Treylon Burks FC, yall won. I was so wrong about him
— Prezz ₩ (@Prezz4k) November 2, 2026
Eagles suck. Sam Cosmi whooped Jalen Carter for the second time this season. 2026 Treylon Burks is in redemption mode.
— Jamual (@LetMualTellit) November 2, 2026
Jayden Daniels hits on his longest pass of the season (53 yards). Also his longest ADOT (50).
— Grant Paulsen (@GrantPaulsen) November 2, 2026
Burks toasts one of the best CBs in football. pic.twitter.com/4AjpPTZcWs
Antonio Williams is definitely going to be a good player but teams will have to respect Treylon Burks more.
— Zonerunner (@zonerunner331) November 2, 2026
He’s physically becoming a problem. Burks can man handle you in coverage or run by you.
Treylon Burks is a legit WR option. All off season we were told “he’s not gonna run past DBs”. All I’ve been seeing is him running past DBs.🙄🤷🏾♂️
— Disco (@discoque92) November 2, 2026
Do not let Treylon Burks get hot! pic.twitter.com/xJyXU9WvQ2
— Andrew Ellis (@EllisAndrew_) November 2, 2026
Much needed. Defense was great but also true that it should've been against that team. Offense produced impactful explosives. Stevens made 4 after missing first. McCaffrey's punt return end of half led to pts. Season alive for now. #Commanders
— Kevin Sheehan (@kevinsheehanDC) November 2, 2026
Washington is a very flawed, poorly coached team that now is just two games out of first place in the NFC East.
