Déjà vu.
Unbelievable. As soon as it occurred, you said in your mind, I can't believe I am seeing the same thing again, yet you were. It was truly Deja vu. For those unaware, Deja vu is a sudden feeling or recollection that you have lived through this event previously.
Washington Commanders left guard Chris Paul stepped on Jayden Daniels’ foot as he tried to drop back and avoid falling. Daniels extended his left arm, and unbelievably, it appears the left elbow dislocated again, as it did against Seattle in the 2025 season.

This is the fifth time Jayden Daniels has been knocked out of a game and unable to finish it since entering the NFL in 2024.
- October 20, 2024: Jayden Daniels is running down the far right side of the field for 46 yards against the Carolina Panthers. On the play, the first snap of the game, Daniels injures a rib in a twisting fall. He plays a few more plays, but is clearly injured and sits out the rest of the game.
- October 19, 2025: Daniels drops back to pass early in the second half against the Cowboys in Dallas. He is sacked and pulls a hamstring. He is forced to sit out the rest of the game and is also not available to play the next week against the Kansas City Chiefs.
- November 2, 2025: The Commanders were getting absolutely drilled by the Seattle Seahawks on NBC Sunday Night Football. The Commanders had trailed 28-0, and then 38-7 in the final quarter, when Daniels, running to the right, was tackled and, falling, used his left arm to break his fall. His left elbow was dislocated. Five weeks later, Daniels returned against the Vikings.
- December 7, 2025: The Commanders went to Minnesota and struggled on both sides of the ball. Trailing 14-0 in the third quarter, Daniels dropped back, looked left to Terry McLaurin, but Andrew Van Ginkel intercepted it. During the return, Daniels was pushed and fell on his left arm, injuring it yet again. He would consequently be out the remainder of the 2025 season.
- September 20, 2026: Washington trails Dallas 17-10 at the Dallas 1 in the last seconds of the first half. Taking the snap, Daniels has left guard Chris Paul step on his left foot. Trying to drop back, he begins to fall and extends his left arm and hand, hoping to regain his balance and throw a pass into the end zone. But when making contact with the turf, his left elbow appears to dislocate again, and Daniels is seen immediately grabbing his left arm in pain. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed after the game that it indeed was a dislocation, and X-rays were negative.
So, how much
time will Daniels be out with this injury? It is unfortunate, as Daniels was playing really well and carried the team on his back in the first half on Sunday. Commanders Wire hopes the best for Daniels in his recovery. Perhaps Daniels will seek surgery after the season to prevent this injury from happening again. Then again, might Daniels choose to go ahead and have the surgery, ending his season?
