For the fourth time in franchise history, the Washington Commanders (1-2) are playing outside the United States today as they face the Indianapolis Colts (1-2) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Washington has not won any of its three previous international games, including last season, when it fell to the Miami Dolphins 16-13 in overtime in Madrid.
Sunday’s game against the Colts will be the second time that the Commanders have played in London. Back in 2016, Washington faced the Cincinnati Bengals at Wembley Stadium. That game ended in a 27-27 tie.
The Colts and Commanders enter Sunday’s game in similar positions. Both were 0-2 entering Week 3 and picked up their first win. Washington upset the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks
with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota in the starting lineup, replacing the injured Jayden Daniels.
Daniels will be out again on Sunday. The Commanders are also expected to be without star wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
