The Washington Commanders got their first win of the season in Week 3, defeating the Seattle Seahawks in their 2026 home opener.
Sonny Styles got the defense amped up when he forced a fumble that Javon Kinlaw recovered. He later intercepted the ball, giving the Commanders’ offense a chance to score. Several defensive players stepped up against the reigning Super Bowl champions, putting forth a valiant effort that kept the Commanders on top.
Marcus Mariota rallied the Commanders’ offense around him. The backup quarterback managed to use nine different receivers and two running backs behind a banged-up offensive line. He threw for three touchdowns, and despite taking a couple of sacks, he got the Commanders' final first down of the game, which let
them run the clock out when Seattle had zero timeouts left.
