Does baseball ever really stop? Not really. However, college baseball does get a little bit of a break, even if it is only a few months before teams transition into fall ball and then the regular season.
Texas A&M recently released its fall ball schedule, hosting Rice on Oct. 2 and McNeese on Oct. 16 at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park, with both exhibitions offering fans their first look at the 2027 team. The SEC also dropped its conference schedule, giving Aggie fans an early look at what is ahead for the 2027 season.
As Texas A&M enters season three under Michael Earley, the calls for his job have cooled after the Aggies showed improvement and returned to the postseason, although they ultimately fell short of advancing out of their regional. Pitching
was a major issue for the Aggies, which led to Earley not bringing pitching coach Jason Kelly back for 2027. A pitching search followed, and Texas A&M hired up-and-coming pitching coach Barry Enright to take over the role.
There is also a changing of the guard on the roster, with the key players from the 2024 College World Series national runner-up team now gone. That means Coach Earley will have a new crop of young talent to develop as the Aggies look to get back to Omaha and compete for another College World Series appearance.
