Former Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III reached another milestone in his rookie NFL season Sunday, making his first career start during the Las Vegas Raiders' 38-33 victory over the New York Jets.
Zuhn started at right guard as Las Vegas continued evaluating its offensive line combinations. The rookie had previously appeared in six games, primarily serving as an extra blocker in heavy formationswhile learning multiple positions. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins praised Zuhn's performance after the victory, noting that the rookie handled his responsibilities without needing extra attention.
"He just did his job. That's usually the best linemen is when you don't know they were there."
Raiders head
coach Klint Kubiak also expressed confidence in Zuhn, who received the opportunity after Jackson Powers-Johnson and Caleb Rogers struggled to establish consistency at right guard.
The former Aggie has practiced at all five offensive line positions since joining Las Vegas as a third-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. His versatility has become an important part of his development as the Raiders search for their most effective starting combination.
Zuhn spent five seasons at Texas A&M, developing into one of the Aggies' most dependable offensive linemen. He primarily played left tackle before expanding his responsibilities to include center during his final collegiate season. A two-time team captain, Zuhn earned first-team All-SEC recognition in 2025 before entering the NFL Draft. After Sunday's victory, Zuhn acknowledged areas to improve but expressed appreciation for the opportunity to earn his first start.
The performance gives the former Aggie a chance to compete for a more permanent role as Las Vegas continues working through its offensive line rotation.
