The Texas A&M Aggies have parted ways with two players ahead of the 2026 season.
Head coach Mike Elko informed the media on Thursday that offensive lineman Nelson McGuire and wide receiver Jerome Myles have left the team for "personal reasons," according to TexAgs.
Both were big-time recruits when they signed with the Aggies, but failed to make an impact during their only season in College Station. Myles was a five-star recruit in the 2025 recruiting class but missed the entire 2025 season after suffering a season-ending injury during fall camp.
The Draper, Utah product was originally committed to the USC Trojans, but Texas A&M flipped him ahead of the early signing period. He was ranked as the No. 19 player and No. 3 wide receiver in the 247Sports
composite.
McGuire was also a member of Texas A&M's 2025 recruiting class. The Dallas native's only action came against Samford, with the 6-foot-4, 332-pounder playing 12 snaps. He was ranked as the No. 281 overall player and No. 16 interior offensive lineman in the 247Sports composite.
Their departures are not the only news that Elko announced on Thursday. He also revealed that running back Tiger Riden Jr. and defensive lineman Chace Sims will miss the 2026 season with injuries.
Texas A&M will open the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 against the Missouri State Bears at Kyle Field. The game will start at 6 p.m. CT and air on ESPN.
