No. 17 Texas A&M volleyball has found its rhythm during a four-match winning streak, and Kyndal Stowers has been at the center of the Aggies' resurgence.
Stowers tied the program record with her sixth consecutive double-double Friday night, recording 19 kills and 15 digs in Texas A&M's four-set victory over No. 6 Tennessee at Reed Arena. The senior outside hitter became the first Aggie to reach six straight double-doubles since Hollann Hans did so in 2018, adding another milestone to an impressive individual season.
Stowers began her current streak against No. 7 Florida on October 16, recording 17 kills and 11 digs. She followed with double-doubles against Auburn, Georgia and No. 4 Kentucky before extending the streak to six against Tennessee.
Her recent production has coincided with Texas A&M's turnaround in SEC play. After losing three consecutive conference matches, the Aggies have won four straight, including victories over Kentucky and Tennessee that marked the program's first consecutive top-10 wins during the regular season.
Stowers earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday after recording 14 kills and 16 digs against Georgia, followed by 16 kills and 10 digs in the sweep of Kentucky. It was her second weekly conference honor of the season. Friday's performance also highlighted her defensive contributions. Stowers set a career high with seven blocks as Texas A&M recorded a season-high 16 against Tennessee. The Aggies improved to 14-8 overall and 7-3 in SEC play.
Stowers will have an opportunity to break the program's consecutive double-double record Sunday when Texas A&M travels to Austin to face No. 14 Texas in the Lone Star Showdown. First serve is scheduled for noon CT on ABC.
