Texas A&M volleyball made a statement on the court Sunday afternoon, and hundreds of thousands of viewers tuned in to watch the Aggies take down one of the nation's top programs.
The Aggies' three-set sweep of No. 4 Kentucky drew an average audience of 508,000 viewers on ABC, with viewership peaking at 617,000, according to figures shared by Texas A&M volleyball. The nationally televised matchup became the eighth-most-watched regular-season college volleyball match on record, further highlighting the sport's growing national interest.
Texas A&M entered the contest ranked No. 19 nationally before delivering one of its most impressive performances of the season. The Aggies defeated Kentucky 25-20, 25-23 and 25-21 at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington,
snapping the Wildcats' 30-match home winning streak.
The victory also marked Texas A&M's second win over a top-five opponent this season and extended its winning streak to three matches. Kyndal Stowersled the Aggies with 16 kills and 10 digs, while Natalie Ring added 12 kills. Eliza Sharp contributed seven blocks as Texas A&M limited Kentucky to a .163 hitting percentage.
The matchup carried additional significance as a rematch of the 2025 national championship, when Texas A&M swept Kentucky to capture the program's first national title. That championship broadcast attracted more than 1.4 million viewers, making it the second-most-watched NCAA volleyball championship match in history.
Sunday's strong television audience further shows the attention on Texas A&M's volleyball program as the Aggies continue their push toward the postseason. The Aggies (13-8, 6-3 SEC) return to Reed Arena on Friday to host No. 6 Tennessee before traveling to Austin for another nationally televised matchup against No. 14 Texas on Sunday.
The rivalry showdown against the Longhorns will air on ABC, giving Texas A&M another opportunity to showcase its program before a national audience.
