After a few preseason games, we can finally start to get a feel for which players are not only going to make an NFL roster but also position themselves for meaningful snaps once the regular season begins. In some cases, draft position plays a major role in those decisions. In others, it doesn’t matter at all.
These days, when you’re a first‑round pick, you’re expected to contribute immediately. One team that desperately needed offensive playmakers was the Cleveland Browns, and with the No. 24 overall pick they selected Texas A&M star wide receiver KC Concepcion. It was a perfect fit for a franchise searching for a player who can take any touch to the end zone.
Aggies fans only got one season of Concepcion, but it was a spectacular one. He piled
up 1,459 all‑purpose yards and 12 touchdowns, earning the 2026 Paul Hornung Award, All‑American honors, and first‑team All‑SEC recognition.
So far, through preseason action and joint practices, he’s been everything the Browns hoped for and more. Cleveland’s coaching staff has already mentioned they’ll need to be intentional about getting him the ball because of how much of a difference‑maker he can be. He’s passing the eye test with ease, and the PFF numbers back it up.
Concepcion currently grades out as the highest‑rated offensive rookie with a 78.4 mark, placing him ahead of both Ty Simpson and Jereiyah Love. It’s still early, but it’s a strong indication that Concepcion is trending toward a breakout rookie season.
