Texas A&M, to no surprise, dropped out of the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 after falling to LSU in Baton Rouge 35-6 on Saturday night, struggling in all aspects of the game, including starting quarterback Marcel Reed completing just 10/26 for 106 yards and throwing his fourth interception of the season.
It's clear that, through four games, this is not a good football team, and third-year coach Mike Elko, who was visibly frustrated after the loss, deserves the bulk of the blame after making several questionable staff-based decisions, including elevating Holmon Wiggins as the team's offensive coordinator and Lyle Hemphill as the defensive coordinator.
Texas A&M's passing game has been dreadful, but the run game looked solid against LSU until
Holmon Wiggins moved away from running the ball outside of first-down looks. On defense, the once-praised secondary continued to allow explosive plays, while senior cornerback Dezz Ricks allowed five receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown against the Tigers.
Even more worrying, Texas A&M's pass rush again failed to record a sack despite generating nine pressures, a problem in every game after finishing third in sacks last season. Set to host Arkansas on Saturday night, it's hard to know what version of A&M will show up in Week 5, but don't worry, we'll be here to cover it all.

Texas A&M is predicted to finish 5-7 after losing to LSU, which is not surprising given the poor play on both sides of the ball, while Marcel Reed has only gotten worse since Week 1, which is not good news if salvaging the season is the plan.
