Former Texas A&M tight end Nate Boerkircher chose a perfect way to score his first NFL touchdown.
The Jacksonville Jaguars rookie made a one-handed catch in the end zone Sunday against the Houston Texans at Wembley Stadium. Trevor Lawrence placed the pass over Boerkircher’s outside shoulder, and the tight end secured it with his right hand while fighting through coverage.
The touchdown cut Houston’s lead to 24-21 with 2:34 remaining in the third quarter. It also continued a productive stretch for Boerkircher, who entered the game with four receptions for 44 yards through his first five NFL appearances.
Jacksonville selected Boerkircher with the No. 56 overall pick in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft. He finished his college career at Texas
A&M with 19 catches for 198 yards and three touchdowns. His most memorable play as an Aggie was his game-winning touchdown reception with 13 seconds remaining against Notre Dame.
Boerkircher entered the NFLknown more for his blocking and versatilitythan his receiving numbers. However, his first professional touchdown showed what he can offer when given a chance in the passing game.
