Texas A&M (3-3, 1-3 SEC) returns to Kyle Field on Saturday for a nonconference matchup against The Citadel (2-4, 0-3 SoCon).
The Aggies are coming off a 27-6 loss at No. 14 Missouri. A&M failed to score a touchdown for the second time in three games, rushed for only 29 yards and committed two turnovers. David Olano accounted for all six points with field goals from 53 and 27 yards.
The Citadel also enters the game following a loss. The Bulldogs opened a 10-0 lead over No. 24 ETSU before giving up 34 unanswered points in a 34-16 defeat. They finished with 259 yards and committed several costly mistakes during the second half.
Saturday gives A&M an opportunity to work through its offensive problems before returning to SEC play at Alabama. The Aggies
will be heavily favored against an FCS opponent, but a win alone won't answer every question surrounding the team. Marcel Reed and the offense need a much cleaner performance after failing to reach the end zone at Missouri.
Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT on Saturday, Oct. 17. The game will stream through SEC Network+ and ESPN+.

Texas A&M vs Citadel prediction, pick:
Texas A&M shouldn't have much trouble winning this game, but performance still matters. The Aggies have scored only 12 points across their two road games and are coming off another uneven performance from Reed and the offensive line.
The Citadel led ETSU by 10 points before turnovers and special-teams mistakes let the game slip away. A&M should have a significant advantage in talent and depth, especially as the game moves into the second half.
This is an opportunity for the Aggies to rebuild some confidence, establish the running game and get their younger players meaningful snaps. A&M should pull away comfortably, although the offense still has plenty to prove before its trip to Alabama.
Prediction: Texas A&M 38, The Citadel 10
