Another chaotic weekend in the Southeastern Conference caused a massive shift in power rankings entering the sixth week of the 2026 season.
Two wins over quality ranked opponents give the Texas Longhorns a slight edge over the Alabama Crimson Tide, which made a huge leap to No. 2 after their dominant 56-23 road performance against Mississippi State. Despite the blowout home loss to Kalen DeBoer's squad, the Bulldogs moved up a spot due to one of the most shocking results on the Week 5 slate.
After dropping a road game in Starkville in Week 4, the Missouri Tigers came out swinging against Jon Sumrall and the Florida Gators, capturing a 45-17 victory for a successful homecoming. As a result, the Gators fell to No. 8 in this week's power rankings,
behind Mizzou and MSU.
There wasn't much movement in the bottom half of the list entering Week 6, but the Texas A&M Aggies moved to No. 11 from No. 13 following their bounce-back 34-7 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks.
