Texas A&M has several players on the field during the opening week of the 2026 NFL season. Week 1 featured players debuting with new teams, rookies experiencing regular-season action and established veterans making an impact.
One of the biggest moments came in Melbourne, Australia, where Mike Evans scored his first touchdown for the San Francisco 49ers. After spending 11 seasons with Tampa Bay, Evans opened his latest chapter by catching six passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in San Francisco’s 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
That same game featured Myles Garrett making his Rams debut after arriving in one of the offseason’s biggest trades. Garrett did not have the performance he wanted, but seeing the former Texas A&M star wearing a different
uniform was still one of the notable sights from the opening weekend.
Edgerrin Cooper made his presence felt for the Green Bay Packers, finishing with seven tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. The former Aggie continues to establish himself as one of the NFL’s rising young linebackers.
Week 1 also marked the beginning of several professional careers. KC Concepcion made his regular-season debut with Cleveland, while Cashius Howell and Nate Boerkircher also saw their first NFL action. De’Von Achane, Von Miller and several other former Aggies returned for another season, giving Texas A&M fans familiar names to follow every week.
