Texas A&M's 2026 season is on the line in Week 6, as the Aggies face No. 14 Missouri in Columbia for the second straight year, sitting at 3-2 and 1-2 in SEC play. After defeating Arkansas 34-7, third-year coach Mike Elko and first-year OC Holmon Wiggins have likely found their offensive formula for the rest of the season: running the ball.
Against the Razorbacks, freshman running back KJ Edwards led the Aggies with 66 yards and his first two touchdowns of the season, helping the Aggies total 231 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Texas A&M's new offensive line rotation, now featuring former five-star prospect Lamont Rogers at right tackle, averaged nearly six yards per carry when running outside right tackle, which opened up play-action opportunities
for starting quarterback Marcel Reed to make plays outside the pocket, completing 13/19 for 170 yards and a rushing touchdown against the Razorbacks.
Facing a Missouri passing attack led by transfer QB Austin Simmons, who threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers' blowout win over Florida, Texas A&M's secondary will need to play tight in coverage and prevent explosive plays from blowing the game open in the first half.
Ahead of Saturday's critical road matchup, here are our final Aggies Wire staff predictions for Texas A&M vs. Missouri.

I've gone back and forth all week when attempting to predict the outcome for Saturday's all-important matchup, taking all the good and the bad from Texas A&M's win over Arkansas, while Missouri's blowout win over Florida could be a flash in the pan, or a sign that the Tigers are a College Football Playoff contender.
Missouri QB Austin Simmons dominated Florida's secondary, connecting with wide receivers Cayden Lee and Donovan Olugbode for 204 combined yards and a touchdown, which should strike fear into Texas A&M's secondary, right? Well, emotional wins in SEC play, especially winning by nearly 30 points, can, and have already resulted in teams sleepwalking the next week.
Missouri's roster is beat up, with over half a dozen key starters/reserves listed as "questionable" for Saturday's game, while Texas A&M star WR Mario Craver is also questionable among an otherwise healthy lineup. For the Aggies to pull off the upset, running the ball efficiently against Missouri's 12th-ranked run defense, combined with Marcel Reed finding success in the passing game against the Tigers' 99th-ranked passing defense, gives OC Holmon Wiggins a clear blueprint.
If Texas A&M's defense plays sound football and avoids giving up big plays through the air and on the ground, it's no surprise that several national analysts have chosen the Aggies to pull off the upset. Right now, I'm 50/50, but will give the slight edge to the home team.
Prediction: Missouri 30, Texas A&M 27

Unfortunately for Texas A&M, they are running into one of the hottest college football teams, who get to stay home with a chance to move to 5-1.
While the Tigers’ explosive offense has drawn much attention after notching 560 yards against No. 8 Florida, marking their fourth contest with 400-plus yards, Missouri’s defense has also played lights out. The unit held Heisman hopeful running back Jadan Baugh to just 13 rushing yards on 12 carries, en route to a dominant 45-17 win over the Gators.
The Aggies bounced back against the Razorbacks, but they face a different beast in Week 6.
Texas A&M’s secondary must be sharp, especially going against quarterback Austin Simmons, who ranks third in the SEC in total passing yards, and a slew of talented wideouts like Cayden Lee and Donovan Olugbode.
Mike Elko’s squad has the talent to hang in this game, but Marcel Reed’s continued struggles and Texas A&M’s pass defense are concerning.
Prediction: Missouri 31, Texas A&M 21

Texas A&M finally looked like the team many expected to see during its win over Arkansas. The Aggies established the run, Marcel Reed played within the offense, and the defense kept the Razorbacks from making many explosive plays. Now A&M has to prove that performance was more than a one-week response.
Missouri is coming off a dominant win over Florida and has the playmakers to attack the same weaknesses Kentucky and LSU exposed. Austin Simmons has protected the football, Jamal Roberts gives the Tigers balance and Cayden Lee will challenge an inconsistent Aggies secondary.
A&M’s best chance is to lean on its running game, control possession and prevent Reed from feeling like he has to force throws.
I expect the Aggies to remain competitive and have a chance in the fourth quarter. However, Missouri is playing at home and currently looks more consistent on both sides of the ball.
Prediction: Missouri 27, Texas A&M 23
