The Cincinnati Bengals have taken a cautious approach with Erick All Jr. during training camp.
They apparently won't be doing the same when the regular season begins, as head coach Zac Taylor indicated there are no plans to put All on a limited workload when Cincinnati opens its season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic presented Taylor with two possibilities for handling All early in the season. One would be giving him a full workload with no reservations. The other would be gradually expanding his role based on how his knee responds.
“The first one,” Taylor said. “The first one.”
That was welcome news for All, who admitted he had been concerned the Bengals might continue restricting him after he played only six preseason
snaps.
“Honestly, I had no idea,” All said, via The Athletic. “I kind of got worried they were going to (limit me). I’m glad they are not doing that.”
All tore his ACL in November 2024, and complications from the injury kept him sidelined for the entire 2025 season. Cincinnati gradually increased his workload after he was cleared this offseason.
The 25-year-old said he feels “100 percent, for sure,” although he acknowledged his knee still feels different on some days.
Getting All back without restrictions would give Cincinnati a compelling wrinkle offensively. His combination of blocking and receiving ability allowed the Bengals to operate more frequently from under center and utilize play action during his rookie season.
Now, Taylor appears ready to find out how much All can add to the offense.
