Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, like Ja’Marr Chase, continues to work his way back from an injury before his team’s Week 5 game against the Miami Dolphins.
Higgins suffered what the team later called a groin/neck injury combo during the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He led all receivers with 11 catches for 157 yards in that game, but returned for just one play before being shut down after the injury.
Here’s a live-updating look at Higgins injury updates as the week of prep comes to a close.
Tee Higgins injury updates
- The Bengals listed Higgins as a “DNP” during the first two practices of the week.
- Higgins suffered the injury and coaches said he attempted to work one play before being shut down last weekend.
Tee Higgins injury impact on Bengals depth chart
It should go without saying, but Joe Burrow’s offense is much better with Higgins on the field.
Beyond that, while Ja’Marr Chase has started to ramp back up from his concussion, there’s no guarantee he plays a full set of reps in Week
5, even if he clears protocol.
The Bengals, at least, are surprised with how quickly rookie Colbie Young has rebounded from his injury. He appears on track to play, which would mean he gets key reps alongside Mitch Tinsley and Dohnte Meyers.
Obviously, the Bengals want Chase and Higgins out there like normal, but they’re happy with a Young-Meyers-Tinsley trio, too.
