One great thing about the Cincinnati Bengals being historically very good at drafting and finding wide receivers?
They have guys all over the league they are familiar with and can go and get.
Case in point, with rookie Colbie Young and Andrei Iosivas injured, the Bengals went and signed Mitch Tinsley off the Houston Texans practice squad, adding him right back to the 53-man roster.
And the move has Joe Burrow’s approval, too.
Laurel Pfahler of the Dayton Daily News captured Burrow’s reaction: “He played well for us last year and gave us some good reps, made a lot of plays for us in his limited opportunities and to get a guy like that back …is good for the Bengals.”
Seamless, really. After the Bengals loss in Pittsburgh, they cut returner Ke’Shawn
Williams, which means leaning on Dohnte Meyers on special teams. Tinsley, then, picks up in the base offense right where he left off after doing so for the Bengals last year before not making the initial 53 this offseason.
Given the reps Tinsley and Burrow have together already, rehabbing the depth by bringing him back was a no-brainer.
