Bengals' Joe Flacco addresses trade buzz

Don’t look for the Cincinnati Bengals to trade Joe Flacco. 

That much should have been obvious without saying, yes. But one look around the NFL landscape reveals plenty of quarterback-needy teams with fans suggesting their favorite team call the Bengals…just in case. 

So, in the interests of getting Flacco’s take on the situation, the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway linked up with him on the subject:

Flacco isn’t going anywhere, of course. The Bengals made the emergency

trade for him last year and things worked out well, to keep it brief. Flacco could have dragged out his trip to free agency this past offseason, but re-upped in Cincinnati early in the process.

The Bengals, too, understand the importance of a quality backup and veteran in the locker room at the position for all the obvious reasons. 

And at the end of the day, while other teams might be desperate and offer pretty good value for Flacco via trade, the Bengals aren’t the Browns and won’t make the mistake of letting him go midseason.
