Over the years, the Cincinnati Bengals have had a hard time winning over Nick Wright, one of the most prominent NFL analysts out there.
But things just changed in Baltimore.
Joe Burrow and the Bengals dropped 35 unanswered points on the Ravens in Week 7 to walk out winners. And they walked out with onlookers like Wright even throwing up their hands and acknowledging how good things seem for Cincinnati right now.
In fact, during an appearance on First Things First, Wright said the Bengals were the most impressive thing of the week: “The Bengals have, to me, with that performance, announced themselves as a legitimate AFC threat for the first time in five years.”

Wright went on to compare Burrow’s performance over the first six games to his first six in 2024, the year he was fourth in MVP voting.
The Bengals will need to keep winning in order to match the budding hype. And even later in this video, someone stresses caution because Burrow’s team only did it against a Ravens team without Lamar Jackson.
Fair or not, the Bengals are in a good spot in the playoff seedings right now with an easy-looking schedule the rest of the way. If the second half in Baltimore was a sign of things to come, the Bengals will be a positive highlight for Wright and others each week.
