Another former Cincinnati Bengals player is on the move before Week 1.
Former Bengals offensive tackle Cody Ford received a workout chance with the Buffalo Bills this week.
A surprisingly early cut by the Bengals ahead of the final cuts deadline, Ford had been with the Bengals since 2023 and enjoyed multiple contract extensions as a key backup and spot starter.
This summer, though, Ford mightily struggled, including two false starts and two holds in the first half of his last preseason game in Cincinnati.
At the same time, Javon Foster emerged as a backup swing tackle and younger players/rookies Jalen Rivers, Connor Lew, Jacob Bayer and Brian Parker emerged as key interior depth. The Bengals later also claimed Myles Hinton on the waiver wire as another
backup tackle option.
For Ford, a possible reunion with the Bills would be one of the best possible scenarios as the Bengals usher in a new era along the depth chart behind the starters.
