The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers got together for their latest AFC North encounter in Week 3, a win for the hosting Steelers.
Roughly one week later, the predictable NFL fines news went public.
Bengals defensive end Cedric Johnson was one of the players fined for his actions during the contest. According to Sports Illustrated’s Jay Morrison, Johnson’s infamous roughing-the-punter penalty on the ill-advised block attempt cost him a $6,164 fine.
Cole Holcomb of the Steelers received a $11,041 fine for a blindside block on special teams.
Notably, the hit that appeared to be a hip-drop tackle that injured Bengals rookie wideout Colbie Young didn’t produce a fine letter from the NFL for the Steelers player in question.
