It was somewhat easy for it to get lost in the shuffle a bit, but the Cincinnati Bengals claimed a player on the waiver wire amid the chaos of final cuts and practice squad moves.
Alas, the Bengals claimed Myles Hinton from the Philadelphia Eagles in a move that, due to league rules, forced them to add him right to the 53-man roster.
Bengals coaches who made the call weren’t the only ones who really like Hinton.
Just peep recent comments about him from Orlando Brown Jr., the guy starting in front of Hinton.
"He's talented, big and really athletic," Brown told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. "It gives the coaching staff a real good opportunity to develop and work with a guy we liked coming out of the draft and a guy we liked when we saw him this preseason.
A combination of that talent, athleticism, and size is somebody we wanted in the program."
Hinton was a sixth-round pick in 2025 who showed some flashes and is, indeed, a big 6’6” and 300-plus pounds.
The Bengals have kept the backup swing tackle job in flux. They moved on from Cody Ford ahead of final cuts, then kept Javon Foster on the 53 for that role. Now, Hinton joins the fray to give the Bengals options if the need pops up during the regular season.
