Joe Burrow’s late fumble against the Pittsburgh Steelers opened the door to another round of questions about his performance in close games.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback remains confident about who he wants controlling the offense when the outcome hangs in the balance.
“I feel like I’m pretty good in those moments,” Burrow said Wednesday, via Bengals.com. “There’s no place I’d rather be.”
Burrow lost the fumble in Pittsburgh territory on Cincinnati’s final possession Sunday, allowing the Steelers to close out a 30-27 victory.
There's more context behind the numbers.
Burrow ranks tied for fourth among NFL quarterbacks in dropback EPA per play when trailing with fewer than eight minutes remaining in regulation, per Locked On Bengals' Jake Liscow.
His 107.7 passer rating in those situations ranks first.
Burrow also has 11 game-winning drives over that span, including two in the postseason, according to Bengals.com.
“I want it in my hands when you put the game on the line,” Burrow said.
Cincinnati gets its next occasion on Sunday against Jacksonville, with both teams heading into Week 4 at 2-1.
