Former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt is heading back to a defense led by a familiar face.
The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they signed Pratt to their practice squad, bringing the veteran back after he started 12 games for Indianapolis last season.
The move puts Pratt back with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who coached him throughout his six seasons in Cincinnati. The Bengals selected Pratt in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft, and he became a regular starter during the team’s rise to AFC contention.
Bengals fans will remember his game-sealing interception against the Raiders in January 2022, which secured Cincinnati’s first playoff victory in 31 years. Pratt was with the Bengals through the 2024 season before
the team released him in June 2025.
He initially landed with Las Vegas, starting four games before joining Indianapolis last October. In his 12 starts with the Colts, Pratt recorded 101 tackles, five tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
Now, opportunity knocks in a system he knows well.
Pratt’s return hands the Colts an experienced option, with any game action dependent on a subsequent roster move.
