There’s another side to the coin that comes with Cincinnati Bengals rookie wideout Colbie Young being one of training camp’s biggest breakouts:
It potentially pushes others like Andrei Iosivas aside.
Struggles for Iosivas and others behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins last year played a part in the Bengals going to get third-wideout options like Young as it is.
And after a week or so of training camp, Iosivas popped up in at least one lowlight that registers as concerning:

The gaffes arrived around the same time a coach was talking about the offense needing to make more plays.
"I think overall today we just didn't make enough
plays. We had a chance to make way more plays than we did today," offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. "But you learn from it and you move on … I think, by and large, we've had a very good camp operationally.”
That wasn’t targeted at Iosivas specifically, considering the offense has had problems with the Dexter Lawrence-led defense so far. Everyone has bad reps in training camp, too, so one drop isn’t a major ordeal.
But the Iosivas struggles stick out. Rather than building on his six-touchdown showing from 2024, Iosivas caught just 33 of his 58 targets last year for 435 yards and two scores.
With Young breaking out and other guys like tight ends and running backs lining up at wide receiver too, Iosivas can’t afford many mistakes while the offensive coaching staff decides on snap counts and packages usages for the regular season.
