The Jacksonville Jaguars have had plenty of standout plays during the first two days of training camp, but one player in particular had a big day on Friday.
Jarrian Jones had a strong showing when called upon last season, earning a 78.4 overall defensive grade from Pro Football Focus. He ranked fifth among 114 qualified NFL cornerbacks, and excelled in both run defense and coverage. In 17 games, he had 49 tackles (35 solo), six tackles for loss, eight passes defended, and three interceptions. In a talented cornerback room, it won't be easy keeping Jones off the field.
Thursday, Jones had a pair of pass-breakups, which was good enough, but he built on that momentum Friday. According to SI.com's John Shipley, he had another two pass-breakups, as well
as two interceptions.

It understandably garnered him a lot of praise from head coach Liam Coen in his post-camp press conference.

"I thought today he had a really nice day. You know, got his hands on a lot of balls today," he said. "He's physical when he plays with anticipation, and just plays free and he's not overthinking it, and we're not maybe putting him in positions to overthink, when he's able to just go play. He's a physical dude at the line of scrimmage. He likes to be up front and challenge people in their faces. He likes to do those things. And so we got to continue to put him in positions that he can be successful, but I've been really pleased with Jarrian."
Jones will be playing alongside Montaric Brown, Travis Hunter, and Jourdan Lewis at cornerback, and it seems that he is prepared to take another big leap in 2026.
