Training camp will begin on Wednesday for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and while there is always the potential that GM James Gladstone could continue to make additions, the roster is set with practices about to begin.
The next month of practices and preseason games will determine playing time at certain positions, establish the pecking order on the depth chart, and ultimately who makes the 53-man roster and practice squad.
But before it all begins, let's take one last look at each position group on defense for the Jaguars and what's at stake within each unit.
Defensive end

We know that Hines-Allen and Walker will lead the way, but how the depth chart and rotational snaps shakes out behind them on the depth chart remains to be seen.

If the Jaguars roster six cornerbacks, Braswell and Muhammad appear to be the clear favorites when it comes to earning those roles following offseason programs. They'll, of course, have to carry that momentum into training camp.
Safety

- Jalen Huskey
- Rayuan Lane
- Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig
- Trevian Thomas
- Devin Neal
Murray and Johnson will start, while Ransaw seems to be the front-runner for the third safety role -- although Huskey could put himself in the mix as well with the size and versatility he adds to this unit. The third safety sees fairly steady playing time in Anthony Campanile's defense. Huskey and Lane will both be core special teams contributors.
