The Jacksonville Jaguars made two additions at the cornerback position on Tuesday.
In addition to signing Alijah Huzzie to the 53-man roster off the Texans' practice squad, the Jaguars also signed free agent Jaylon Jones.
These additions come as the Jaguars have been navigating injuries at cornerback. Montaric Brown was sidelined during Sunday's game in Cincinnati with a hamstring injury. The Jaguars also waived/injured Christian Braswell, who had been dealing with a knee injury.
Jones adds experience to the cornerback room, having appeared in 56 games during his NFL career with the Chicago Bears from 2022-2025. This includes making six starts.
In coverage, Jones has allowed a completion rate of 70% on 64 targets, surrendering 10.3 yards per catch
with four pass breakups, per PFF.
He has played fewer than 100 defensive snaps over the last two seasons, but has played 889 career special teams snaps, which will be his primary role in Jacksonville.
Jones went undrafted in 2022 out of Mississippi State.
