Despite continued outside speculation, the Jacksonville Jaguars have no intention of trading wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
This all started around last year's trade deadline and has continued on and off since then. It has since ramped up following Thomas Jr.'s smaller role in Week 3 against New England, where he played just 23 snaps.
ESPN's Dan Graziano recently predicted that teams would attempt to pry Thomas Jr. away from the Jaguars.
However, Pelissero reported in his latest edition of The Sweep that the Jaguars have "shown no interest" in trading the wide receiver.
"Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr.'s name has seemingly come up in trade rumors weekly since the start of last season," Pelissero wrote, via Bleacher
Report. "But while there continue to be calls periodically, Jacksonville has shown no interest in trading the former first-round pick."
This shouldn't come as a surprise given that the Jaguars have said all along that they don't have any intention of moving on from Thomas Jr. HC Liam Coen also praisedThomas Jr. for his performance against the Bengals.
Thomas' fit in the Coen offense -- which spreads the ball around -- has yet to really take off. But there's also no need for the Jaguars to trade the wide receiver just for the sake of doing so.
